Amrit
is a partner in the Firm’s Mumbai office. He has over 14 years of experience
advising on M&A and general corporate transactions, insurance and
employment related matters. He has advised extensively on domestic and
cross-border acquisitions, including share sale, slump sale and assets sale
transactions, joint ventures and foreign direct investments.
Amrit has been recognized as a
‘Rising Star’ in Corporate and M&A by Chambers Asia Pacific 2016; as a
‘Rising Star’ in Corporate and M&A by Asialaw Leading Lawyers 2020-2022; as
a ‘Notable Practitioner’ in Corporate and M&A by IFLR1000 2021 and 2022;
and featured in BW Legal World ‘40 under 40’ 2021.
Amrit
co-chaired a panel discussion on ‘Current legal developments in M&A in Asia’
at the International Bar Association’s Asia Pacific Mergers & Acquisitions
Conference held in Tokyo in November 2019.
In
his spare time, Amrit likes driving to the hills, and spending time with his
cats.
Prior
to joining INDUSLAW,
Amrit was a partner in the Corporate/M&A practice with Majmudar &
Partners. In 2016, Amrit was on a 4 months’ secondment as a ‘Foreign Lawyer’ at
the Tokyo offices of Mori Hamada & Matsumoto, a leading law firm in Japan.
