Debjani is a Partner in the Bengaluru Office of INDUSLAW and is part of the Employment practice group.

Debjani brings a wealth of experience in advising multinational corporations on workforce-related operations in India, from both federal and state-level employment and labour law perspectives. Her expertise spans across a wide range of employment-related documentation, compensation structuring, compliance issues, employee transfer and integration, immigration matters, and employment negotiations. She is well-versed in handling complex employee terminations, including large-scale contentious reductions in force (RIFs), and often serves as external counsel during termination discussions. She has extensive experience in handling investigations on employee misconduct matters, including domestic enquiries and anti-bribery/anti-corruption investigations.

Debjani is also highly regarded for her work in laws related to DEI at work, including the prevention of sexual harassment (POSH) in the workplace, having undergone certified international training in this area. She regularly advises on Indian anti-sexual harassment laws and acts as an external member on the anti-sexual harassment committees of several clients. Furthermore, she conducts workplace training on employment laws, with a focus on POSH and discrimination, for both senior management and general employees.

Debjani is a sought-after speaker at national and international conferences on employment issues, with diversity, equity and inclusion being a key area.
