We are pleased to share the latest edition of our quarterly competition law newsletter, the ‘Sentinel’, capturing key developments from the ever-evolving world of competition law. This quarter saw several significant developments, including the Hon’ble Supreme Court dismissing AGI Greenpac’s review petition—effectively upholding its original decision that set aside AGI’s resolution plan on grounds of legal and procedural non-compliance. Other notable highlights include: (i) The Kerala High Court affirming the CCI’s jurisdiction in competition law matters concerning the telecommunications sector; (ii) The CCI issuing its first-ever settlement order in the Google Android TV case, applying a 15% settlement discount on the penalty; (iii) The CCI penalising UFO Moviez and Qube Cinema for restrictive lease agreements; (iv) Penalties on CA Plume and Bequest for violating GCR norms—alongside other regulatory and institutional updates.
