The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology released the much-awaited draft Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 on January 3, 2025. This marks a significant step towards consolidating India’s data protection framework. The Draft Rules strike a positive balance – providing the much-needed clarity to stakeholders without adding unnecessary complexity.
