On April 21, 2022, the Reserve Bank of India issued the Master Direction – Credit Card and Debit Card – Issuance and Conduct Directions, 2022. The Master Direction gives a comprehensive set of instructions, especially to card issuers, on matters such as credit and debit card issuance, telemarketing, co-branded cards, and billing among others.
