LATEST UPDATES IN THE REGULATORY REGIME GOVERNING DEBT CAPITAL MARKETS

In a significant development, the SEBI has recently approved significant regulatory changes to the framework governing the issuance of listed debt securities and non-convertible redeemable preference shares. The changes have been introduced by way of the board meeting held on June 27, 2024 and the subsequent circular issued by SEBI dated July 03. Aligned with industry (including INDUSLAW) recommendations and feedback, these changes are likely to result in faster access to public funds for issuers and greater retail and non-institutional participation in the domestic capital markets. INDUSLAW's Pritha Chatterjee, Rishabh Bhojwani and Abhishek Jha analyze the changes.
