The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has notified rule 133 under the Income-Tax Rules 1962, prescribing the mechanism for computation of ‘net winnings’ from online gaming for the purpose of section 115BBJ and section 194BA of the Income-Tax Act, 1961. Furthermore, the CBDT has also issued guidelines for removal of certain difficulties for withholding tax purpose under section 194BA.
